How to Prepare Your Air Conditioner For Home Renovations

Renovations are tiring and dusty. The one who has gone through the house renovation might know how dusty and dirty it can get. The dust can drastically damage the operations of your HVAC. Therefore, it is advisable that you should take some precautionary measures before getting the renovation work started in your house for the protection of your HVAC system.

Plan the Construction Work

If your plans include construction in your house then you should keep in mind that it do not harm the duct work or the wiring of your heating and cooling systems. If your construction plans are in way of duct work or wiring work then consult your HVAC contractor and get the ductwork done before the actual construction to save the hassle afterwards.

Switch OFF the HVAC

Switching off the HVAC system will save your HVAC system from going through the trauma of dust and dirt in the house. Most of the ducted and ductless HVAC systems are caused by the dirt and mold. Thus, keep your mini split air conditioner and ducted HVAC away from the unwanted dirt in the air during renovation time by switching it off.

Use Tarps

Plastic tarps can resist a lot of dust if you put them in the construction area. A lot of dust can be contained by the plastic tarps.

Cover Filters and Registers

If you have switched off your air conditioning system Bristol then completely cover the filters and the registers of your HVAC. Block the vents as well. In case you have ductless dc inverter then cover the indoor unit and outdoor unit with plastic sheets. But if you are using your HVAC systems then covering them is not recommended.

Wash or Change Filters

Keep on cleaning filters or replacing them during the renovation time to keep the air fresh and the HVAC functioning properly.

These precautions will save you a lot of money afterwards because you wont have to spend on HVAC repairing bills at all.
